Message from Prime Minister

‘I’m here to change the country’: Albanese

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese says the Indigenous Voice to Parliament is an “important reform” in how the world sees Australia.

“This is about giving respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people,” Mr Albanese said in a media conference on Friday.

“It’s also about how Australians see ourselves but also how the world sees Australia.”

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has expressed his regard for the state and territory government leaders’ “unanimous support” for the Indigenous Voice to parliament – including a mention of Former NSW premier Dominic Perrottet.

“One of the things about the state and territory leaders who are here is they are all unanimous in their support. As was Chris Minns’ predecessor Dominic Perrottet as well,” said Mr Albanese. “
